• be put on holdで「お蔵入りになる、保留になる（in the state of being delayed for a time）」。この場合のholdは、電話英会話でおなじみの"Hold on, please." のholdと同じで、保留のままになっちゃった〜、と。

• ついでに「保留にする、後回しにする」という表現からputつながりで "put/keep 〜 in cold storage"（to not do or use something such as a plan or idea until later in the future）も。cold storageはもともと「低温貯蔵」。言葉のチョイスが日本語の「お蔵入り」のイメージに近い感じ。ちょっと気になったのは、cold strageには冠詞が付かないということ。間違えそう。

• 今度は同じ意味でもcoldじゃなくてhotな例を。"put 〜 on the back burner"も同じ意味（to delay doing something until a later time）。台所のガスレンジを思い浮かべて…back burnerは後ろの列にあるバーナーのこと。つまり、後回しにされちゃう場所ってことになる。
