netlearning にて配信のpodcastが本になった（『AYAのリアルトークリスニング』）ので早速購入。トピック1・映画「フェイスオフ」についての会話から。映画の話を導入として、実際にあった顔の移植手術の話を持ち出す時の切り出しがこの「get this」。話し始めに相手の注意を引くための一言として紹介されている。

• アメリカ英語。（used to draw attention to something surprising or interesting that you are about to mention／used to say that you are going to tell someone something that they will find surprising or interesting）
• この「get this」の例文を探していたら、米ドラマ「フルハウス」でDJもこの表現を使っていたのを発見。新学年、上級クラスに入れられてキミーと離ればなれになるのが嫌で学校をさぼってしまったDJは、パパに見つかり怒られる。上級クラスに選ばれるなんて素晴らしいことなのに、なんで嫌なの？というパパの問いかけに対するDJの答えで。
