美容室に前髪を切りに行ったがサイフを忘れていて、2週間後に予約してあるからその時払うことにした、というエピソードを話すと、どうして1か月に2回も美容室に行くの?との質問。2週後は前から予約していたけれど、今日は昨日思い立って行くことにしたの。予定になかったの、と言うと、こういう言い方を教えてくれた。
- "spur of the moment"で、「予定していなかった、その場できめた」という意味。レッスン中、そのまま名詞として使う感じで教わったけれど、辞書を引いてみると"super of the moment"を形容詞として使っているか、"on the spur of the moment"の形となっている(suddenly, without any previous planning or thought)。
