Get down on all fours.

（四つん這いになりましょう。）
　最近購入した本『Balance--a guide to life's forgotten pleasures』（邦題：『人生をひそかに楽しむための45の方法』）より、人生をひそかに楽しむためのHow toのひとつ「How to look for a four-leaf clover」より。

• 四葉のクローバーについて言っている文だから、最初ここのfourも四葉のことかと思っちゃった。"get down on all fours"で「四つん這いになる」。つまり、fourとは四肢のことなのね。
• あと、四葉はfour leavesじゃなくてfour-leafなのか〜、と思ったり。
• How to look for a four-leaf clover
  1. Find meadow (or unkept lawn). (Fig1: a meadow)
  2. Get down on all fours. Begin meticulous search (Fig2: a man searching a four-leaf clover)
  3. Examine prize closely (beware of impostors). Wain for good luck to take effect. (Fig3: a happily smiling man having the four-leaf clover)
