I will be at the top of Mt.Fuji in a week!!

（一週間後には富士山の頂上にいるよ！）
　ちょうど一週間後は富士登山だー、という時にfacebookのステータスに I will be at the top of Mt.Fuji a week later と書き込んだら、a week laterじゃなくてin a weekが正しいよ、と、英会話の先生が教えてくれた。

• 私、within a weekとin a weekを、多分、高校生くらいからずっと混同してた（！！！！）　正しくはin a week=「一週間後に」within a week=「一週間以内に」。私はin a weekの意味が「一週間以内に」だと勘違いしていたので、この文の中でinを使えなかったのだ。ただ、米口語ではしばしばwithinと同義で使われる、と表記のある辞書もあるので、私の長年の混同も100％間違いではないのか。しかしながら、今さらながらにinの使い方で感動。
• 辞書にはちゃんとat the end of a period of time（一定期間の後に）／expressing the length of time before a future event is expected to take place（ある出来事が起こるであろう時の前に残っている時間を表す）と載っている。
• I'll be with you in a minute.という定番表現も、今まで「１分以内で行くよ→すぐ行くよ」かと思っていたけれど「１分後には行くよ→すぐ行くよ」だったのね。
  • I'll be with you in a minute.
  • The results will be announced in two weeks' time.
  • The bus leaves in five minutes.
  • It will be ready in a week's time (= one week from now).
  • She learnt to drive in three weeks (= after three weeks she could drive).
