He just took off.
- "take off"には「急いで立ち去る」(to leave a place, especially in a hurry/depart hastily/ to suddenly leave somewhere, usually without telling anyone that you are going)という意味が。"
- When he saw me coming he took off in the opposite direction.
- The officer took off after his men.
- She really took off from there quickly.
- I've got to take off―I'm late.
- As soon as she saw George arrive, she just took off.
- The family took off for Florida.
