At long last the spotlight.
基本は同じ意味なんだろうけれど、辞書(The Free Dictionary・Dictionary.com)によると"at last" が時間的に「やっと、ついに」(After a considerable length of time; finally/ after a lengthy pause or delay)なのに対して、"at long last" だと「(努力や困難を乗り越えて)ついに」(After a lengthy or troublesome wait or delay/after much troublesome or frustrating delay)というニュアンスが加わるとある。
- At long last the winter was over.
- It appears that this problem will soon be solved, at long last.
- The ship docked at long last.
- Sally earned her diploma at long last after six years in college.
- At long last Sherlock Holmes is coming to itunes.
- He was lost in thought for several minutes, but at last he spoke.
- She was at last reunited with her sister.
- We're finished at last.
- We reached the summit at last.
