　BBCドラマ「シャーロック」エピソード1 "A Study in Pink" より。自殺なのか他殺なのかもはっきりしなかった連続不審死事件。今やこれは殺人で、犯人は犠牲者を誘拐して殺したのだ、ということがわかったのだから、もはや彼の独り舞台ではなくなるさ、という流れ。

• "Now that..." という表現は今までもよく耳にはしていたけれど、ちゃんと文の構造を調べてみると、このnow は接続詞だということがわかって、ちょっと意外だった。「今や〜であるので」と、新しい事態が理由になっている時に使われる。（because of something or as a result of something／since something is true : because of the fact that something happened ）
