There's a loophole in the law.

  • loopholeは「法律等の抜け穴、抜け道」という意味(a mistake in the way a law, contract, etc. has been written which enables people to legally avoid doing something that the law, contract, etc. had intended them to do)。

    • a loophole in the law
    • She took advantage of a loophole in the tax law.
    • His attorney has been hunting/searching for a loophole that would allow him to get out of the deal. ※attorney=lawyer
    • tried to close/plug a loophole in the new legislation ※legislation:法律制定
