You've been infatuated with him since day one.
You've been infatuated with him since day one.
- "from/since day one"=「初めから、初日から(from the very beginning, from the first day)」という表現が面白い。
- We were told from day one that the army will not tolerate racism.(freedictionary)tolerate:
- You haven't done anything right since day one! You're fired!(freedictionary)
- She was unhappy with her new car from day one.(freedictionary)

- We've known this about the project since/from Day One.(Merriam)
- The new governor will start implementing these changes on day one. [=the first day of the governor's term](Merriam) ※from や since を伴わなくても day one=the first day の意味で使える。
- ちなみに be infatuated with~ で「~に夢中になって、熱を上げて(filled with foolish or very strong love or admiration/having a very strong feeling of love or attraction for somebody/something so that you cannot think clearly and in a sensible way)」という意味になる。
- He was infatuated with his teacher.(Merriam)

- John had become infatuated with the French teacher.(Longman)
We'll make our house comfortable over time.
We'll make our house comfortable over time.
over time"=「長期にわたって徐々にゆっくりと」(if something happens over time, it happens gradually during a long period)
- The OED and the dictionaries in Oxford Dictionaries are themselves very different. While Oxford Dictionaries focuses on the current language and practical usage, the OED shows how words and meanings have changed over time.(http://public.oed.com/about/the-oed-and-oxford-dictionaries/)
- I worked two hours of overtime last week.(Merriam)
- He was doing a lot of overtime to save for his vacation.(Merriam)
- How much did you earn last month in overtime?(Merriam)
- They’re working overtime to get the job finished.(Longman)

MICROSOFT PULLS PLUG ON AI PROJECT
(to allow or cause something to end by stopping the money or support that is needed for it/to prevent a plan, business etc from being able to continue, especially by deciding not to give it any more money)
- At the end of the season, the network is pulling the plug on the show.
- They may pull the plug on the tutoring program.
- The Swiss entrepreneur has pulled the plug on any further investment in the firm.
- Jane pulled the plug on the whole project.
- It's a wonder the director didn't pull the plug on that project months ago.
former house?
- 年金/a pension
- 確定申告する/file a final (income tax) return
My English got rusty :-(
(not as good as usual or as in the past because you have not done or practiced something for a long time/(of a sport, skill, etc.) not as good as it used to be, because you have not been practising)
- My tennis skills are a little rusty.
- The singers were a bit rusty after the long break.
- My French is a bit rusty.
- I haven't played the piano for ages―I may be a little rusty.
- My golf’s a bit rusty―I haven’t played for years!
Now, Apple’s at it again.
(if you say that someone is at it again, you mean that they are doing something you disapprove of, which they have done before ※他の辞書での説明は単にdoing something againくらいだけど、例文はあまりよくない意味のものが記載されている。)
- I asked Tom to stop playing his trumpet, but he's at it again.
- They are at it again. Why are they always fighting?
- My neighbors are always arguing, and they were at it again last night.
- She's at it again. Interfering in other people's business.
- Look at all that graffiti―those kids have been at it again.
- "while someone's at it"の形にすると、「○○が〜している間に、〜したついでに(used to suggest that someone should/could do something while they are doing something else)」という意味で使える。
- I'm just going for a cup of coffee. Shall I bring you one while I'm at it?
- Since we're cleaning the kitchen, we should wash the floor while we're at it.
- “I'm going to the store to buy a newspaper.” “While you're at it, could you get some milk?”
- "I'm just going to buy some postcards." "Can you get me some stamps while you're at it?"
- Print out what you've written, and while you're at it make a copy for me.
