　先日人から借りた、小栗左多里『英語ができない私をせめないで！』（isbn:4479770666）に載っていた英文より。hungryforwordsというサイトの紹介。

• メールで届いたという「今日の単語」のwindbag（おしゃべりな人）もまあ知らなかったんだけど、"talk about nothing" という言い回しもおもしろい。この場合の "nothing" は「無価値なもの」になるのね。

  • There's nothing on television tonight.g here.'
  • What did you do last weekend?' 'Oh, nothing much.'
  • Politics meant nothing (=was not important) to me for years.
