数日前のNHKラジオ（多分）「基礎英語2」で紹介されてた表現。本文内容は忘れてしまったが、用例として「○○は夕べ徹夜して勉強してたらしいよ」「That will be the day!」みたいなやりとりが紹介されていた。

• 例文*I'm going to marry Johnny Depp!---That'll be the day ! *A pay rise? That'll be the day! 「そんな日が来たら驚きだぜ！」→「そんなこと絶対あり得ないから」という意味の流れなのが一番納得できる説明だった。
• 言い換えると*It'll never happen *Impossible! *I'll believe that only when I see it. *I'll belive that when it happens. など。
• 英英による説明*something that you say in order to show you think an event or action is not likely to happen. *it will never happen.
