• overtime salary／時間外手当
• extracurricular activities／仕事以外の習い事とか　※辞書を引くと「課外授業」がトップにくるが、ここでは学校だけでなく、仕事などの「日常以外の活動」という意味で。（Being outside the usual duties of a job or profession: The attorney's work for the legal aid society was extracurricular.）
• lower market／弱い（狭い）市場　
• prohibit／（法律・団体などが）〜を禁止する（formally forbid (something) by law, rule, or other authority　※authority／権力）
• zero-tolerance／例外なしに認められない、どんな違反も許さない
• notify／報告する
• 2 or 3 years down the road／（=2 or 3 years later）口語ではdown the roadを使うことのほうが多いとのこと。"down the road" が "in the future" の意味。
  • We plan to have an office in both cities - but that's down the road.
  • This is a great invention, but a marketable product is several years down the road.
  • One day I will have video capability on the site, but that's a long way down the road.

• rhyme with〜／〜と韻を踏む　※rhymeが韻なのは知っていたけれど、動詞としての使い方は知らなかった。

• Well put!　※well doneみたいな感じ。「よく言えてる、うまい表現だ」のニュアンス←ヒントがよかった時にも／誰かがいい意見を述べた時などにも

• you hit the nail right on the head!　※「メリーポピンズ」でバンクス氏が言っていた台詞なので（04/5/4）古い英語なのかと思っていたら、今でも現役でよく使われるということ。ビジネスの場面などで。
• I couldn't have put it better myself.　※「Ayaのリアルトークリスニング」で学んだばかりの表現だった（08/3/19）。これもよく使われる表現とのこと。

●覚えたばかりの英単語が役に立った

• dimple
• freckle
• complaint　※でも発音が「コンプレイント」か「コンプラント」かちょっと悩んだ。「コンプレイント」が正解。complainと同じなんだから迷うことはないんだよね(^^;
• bump into = come across = run across
