Where did I leave off?

（どこで話が終わったんだっけ？）
　英会話レッスンにて、先週話したエピソードの後日談を話すにあたって、どこから話せばいいんだっけ？この間どこまで話したんだっけ？というやりとりの中でこの言い方を教わった。

• leave off＝（仕事・話などが）終わる（to stop doing something）。
• 答えはLast week you left off at...という形。atのあとにthat節で文章をつなげていた。
  • I left off reading and went downstairs for supper.
  • Mr. Summers finally left off talking and returned to his seat.
  • We'll pick up the story where we left off yesterday.
  • Barry took up the story where Justine had left off.
  • 'Will you leave off nagging?' he snarled. ※snarl：とげとげしく言う、どなる
